A love Affair with New Orleans

My love affair started in middle school even though I didn’t know where it was.

After six years of traveling around the nation and the pacific, its time to share some of the wonderful experiences that are to come in the next six.  This year join me as I travel for my “paid job” to seek out and discover the untold benefits of my love of traveling, culture and cuisine. Six years ago I was sitting in a barcalounger in South Florida idly flipping through the cable channels. Something inside of me knew there had to be more to life than this, a sedentary life in South Florida, aka Heaven’s waiting room.  I bellied up to the computer and applied only to big cities and foreign countries. Now was the time for a change. My resume shot across the 0 and 1s and within one week I was interviewing and hired to live and work in San Francisco, California.

For a young woman like myself, the opportunity to move from the burbs to the big city was overwhelming but I was ready for the challenge. We made it an adventure. In a little Jeep Liberty I took myself, 1 pit bull, 1 miniature dachshund, 1 boy and 1 girl.  My friends and I were off for my first adventure across the nation. This was the biggest step so far in my adult life.  There were a few stops along the way that I just had to see and eat: A Cafe du Monde Beignet in New Orleans, the Oklahoma City Memorial and the Grand Canyon.

Now I travel an average of eight times a year. So in 2012 my first destinations scheduled are some of my favorite places to visit.  So far I am off to Honolulu, New Orleans, Memphis, Nashville, Massachusetts, New York and Chicago. It would of been a waste to not start this blog and invite you to come along with me this year.
